A friend called and asked if we "really" enjoy life in Hawaii. I often think about this question myself. Well, I can not answer it in a simple way. We miss our family and friends. We miss many parks, zoo, and museum. But, we really love the simple life here.
We just drive 10 minutes, and then we are in a beautiful beach. We can play in the water all year round. We can visit different beach...... never tired of the sunset. Kids love the sand, water, and see fish swimming in the water....
We take a walk in our neighborhood. We even have "block" party in our neighborhood (the whole block have a party). All outdoor activity is simple and easy. Dress code is down to earthy. We only have summer clothing and only need summer clothing.
The best part, I stay home and enjoy taking care of kids. No stress for me, no stress for daddy, and kids are happy. The quality of life is not money can buy. Well, I do not miss any work over time, stuck in traffic, and worry about kids in school etc.
We spend so much time together and have so much fun. Almost every weekend, we are in the zoo, or beach, or park. I often thank to God and pray. Yes, I miss friends and challenges from work. But I really enjoy the simple life in this small island.
Today, we saw some fishes in the beach, and they are about one inch long. Guest what? Meiying was trying to catch them for our dinner. (she worked very hard ;-) Well, I tried to help, but they just swim too fast. ;-o So, we decided that we will get a bigger net next time.
Tonight, daddy B.b.Q some tasty pork. We had a big and nice dinner. Life is simple.
